English language teaching and the historical-critical pedagogy: contributions to a counter-hegemonic pedagogical practice

چکیده

The aim of the paper is to analyze contributions English language teaching towards an omnilateral human formation, under historical-critical pedagogy perspective. study includes discussions about pedagogical conceptions found in education policies and a proposal strategies for second year elementary school. competences strongly inserted school and, based on concepts employability labor capacity, reinforces productivity qualification goals. teaching, enlightened by pedagogy, has potential contribute that goes beyond hegemonic perspectives, thus enabling appropriation rich more significant knowledge search emancipation.
